Journal Quilt 2007
Here is the Journal Quilt I did for the 2007 Journal Quilt Project. Currently showing in Houston. This quilt is 17" x 22". Based on a photograph I took in Colorado.
I love how you did the trees with the collage of fabric. The scene makes me want to curl up in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate. Wonderful!
I really like your piece. It has a great painterly quality that is often missing from representational quilts. I especially like the feeling of the weight of the snow on the chair and the railing--very nicely done!
I just joined the quiltart list last week, and I love it! I wish there was going to be another Journal Quilt show in the future.
Thanks to all who commented on my Journal Quilt. I, in turn, have been inspired by all the journal quilts that have been posted and by the works on your own websites and blogs! I will post some of the pics of the Journal Quilt in progress with some info about the trees.

I love this piece! The lovely float-y bits give me the feeling that I'm looking through a window and I love that.

I just love the way you did the trees. I'd love to see a blog entry explaining your process. Thanks for sharing.
I love this piece. It reminds me of when I was young and we used to get deep crisp white snow. It brings back lovely memories.
